Hi Sean! Can you introduce yourself and your connection to Tiny Changes and Good Time Running?
Hi, my name is Sean and I am a member of Good Time Running Club based in Edinburgh. I joined the club in 2023 and it has become such an important part of my life. The club had previously done a fundraiser for Tiny Changes and it was very successful and it became a charity I followed a lot and what they did was something important to me. So when I decided I was going to do a fundraiser for my 30th birthday it was a no-brainer who I was going to raise money for.
Your fundraising challenge sounds pretty incredible. Can you tell us a bit about it and also why you chose that specific challenge?
I wanted to raise money for my 30th birthday and I wanted it to be a running challenge as that is something I have fallen in love with over the past couple of years. Also being from Scotland and being very proud of that I wanted to do something that was connected to Scotland. So why not choose to run the width of Scotland (125km) and finish in Edinburgh.
How has the training been going this summer?
Summer has been a bit more difficult to keep up the mileage I’ve been doing, and really needed to do, with holidays, the Fringe being on in Edinburgh over August, and just general life. But I kept going and was still able to keep up a decent mileage.
You’re a few days out from the big run now, how are you feeling about it all?
I am feeling great. Excited, nervous, scared. But most importantly ready…
Do you have a plan to push yourself through the hardest parts?
I have a support team planned across the route who will help me with fuelling and running alongside me when they can.
